Thien Cung Cave

Thien Cung CaveWith the stalactites and the magical lights, the most beautiful cave of the North of Vietnam attracts more and more domestic and international tourists.

Thien Cung Cave located in the South of Ha Long (Quang Ninh province) which is about 4km from the port of Halong. It is on the Dau Go Island and at the height of 25m above the level sea.

Passing through a narrow chink in a door, the inside parts suddenly opens the upper space above the quadrilateral premises with the length of 130m. The deeper it is, the more beautiful the cave is. On the east cave cliff, there is a picture of old fairy tale, which is sculptured by the nature.

The cave is close related to the legend of the king Dragon: “After king Dragon helped people in Vietnam with defeating the enemy, he came back and rest in the cave. However, there was a drought and people have to come and ask for help again from the king Dragon. Many people go without the scene of being back. There is a young girl who is the daughter of the couple on the way finding the king Dragon named May (cloud). However, when she grew up, she felt in love with the son of king Dragon and the wedding was held for them in the center of the cave. In order to celebrate the wedding, the dragons came and flied around then turned out to be the cloud of stalactites.

The scene is very crowded and jubilant. In the center of the cave, there are four pillars, which are the supporting of ceiling. On the north side of cave ceiling, there is a picture of fairy playing with each other.

There are three ponds inside which are enjoying the natural water resource pouring babbly all year round. It is said that May had raised her 100 children in these ponds and the relic left is the fairy breast that overflow with vitality.
